Design First.
A heating system only works if it's sized and laid out for the building it's in. We start with the load and the layout, not the equipment catalogue. The right unit in the wrong place still underperforms.
About Us
An Ottawa mechanical and HVAC contractor built around heating and hot water systems.
Our Story
Hydroflame Heating Incorporated has been in business since 2008, but the hydronics expertise goes back further. Owner Mark Muntean learned the trade at his grandfather's plumbing and heating business, started in the 1950s — back when plumbing companies handled a home's heating too, long before forced-air furnaces were standard. That's where the boiler and radiant heat specialty comes from, and it's still central to how we work today.
We specialize in heating systems — gas furnaces, hydronic and radiant heat, heat pumps, and water heaters — for residential and commercial clients across the Ottawa area. Our work spans new construction, retrofits, and renovations, and we handle every phase: design consultation, installation, and ongoing service and maintenance. Hydronic systems in particular — boilers, radiant floors, cast iron radiators, snow melt, even radiant cooling — are a specialty most local HVAC companies don't offer.
We're not a corporatized operation, and we don't want to be. Our technicians aren't working on commission or incentives to sell equipment you don't need — if a system can be fixed properly instead of replaced, that's what we do. We treat every job the same way, whether it's a single service call or a full commercial installation: figure out what the building actually needs, explain it clearly, and do the work properly.
Our technicians are licensed and insured, and we serve the Ottawa area from Kanata to Orleans. We're based at 1339 Labrie Ave, Gloucester, ON K1B 3M2.
Equipment We Install
We choose Canadian-made heating equipment: Napoleon and Continental HVAC products, and NTI boilers. Canadian manufacturers build for Canadian winters, and their support and parts availability hold up over the life of the system.
How We Work
A heating system only works if it's sized and laid out for the building it's in. We start with the load and the layout, not the equipment catalogue. The right unit in the wrong place still underperforms.
Installation is where most systems go wrong — undersized pipe, poor venting, sloppy controls. We take the time to do the mechanical work cleanly so the system runs the way it was designed to.
We service what we install, and we service a lot of systems other companies put in. If something isn't right, we come back and fix it.
Ready When You Are
Whether it's a new install, a replacement, or a system that isn't keeping up, we're happy to take a look. Call us or send a message.
